MSU Retirees Association
Director VanAcker was honored to address a meeting of the Michigan State University Retirees Association. The February 10, 2025 presentation/book signing focused on Lansing and the Civil War and the battle flag collection.
Eaton Rapids Intermediate Elementary
On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, 22 students from Eaton Rapids Intermediate Elementary School visited the flag storage unit.
Save the Flags Thanks Edward & Linda Karmann
State Capitol docent, Ed Karmann and his wife Linda (who also is a docent at the Hall of Justice Learning Center) recently made a donation to Save The Flags of an important artifact and have also donated funds to adopt the regimental flag of the Fourteenth Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment.

Save The Flags film crew were at a Western Theatre battlefield on December 14th, 2024 at Stones River National Battlefield in Tennessee.
The National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC
December 11, 2024, Save the Flags was in South Carolina at the Beaufort National Cemetery.
Filming on Eastern Battlefields, Day 2
Tuesday, December 10, 2024, was spent filming at the Battleground site of Bentonville, North Carolina. For three days, March 19-21, 1865, 80,000 American soldiers (60,000 Union, 20,000 Confederates) fought toe to toe in the storm of death amongst the fields and plantations of Bentonville.

Honoring the First Michigan Sharpshooters
On Tuesday, November 12, 2024 Mr. Scott Schwander testified before the Michigan State Senate Transportation Committee on SB30, a bill to designate a portion of M-22 as the “Company K Indian Veterans 1st Michigan Sharpshooters Civil War Memorial Highway.”
Veteran’s Day at Elmwood Cemetery
Save the Flags was honored to attend a very solemn Veteran’s Day ceremony at Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit on November 11th, 2024.
Courthouse Square Museum
On October 31, 2024, STF hosted a visit to the archival flag storage facility for friends and supporters from the Court House Square Museum in Charlotte, Michigan.

In Memory of David Difatta
