1st Michigan Colored Infantry/102nd USCT Flag Adoption

On May 24, 2021, The State of Michigan/Save the Flags honored Maurice Imhoff and the late Douglas March for their support of Save the Flags through their adoption of a flag of the 1st Michigan Colored Infantry/102nd United States Colored Troops. The ceremony was held in front of the Michigan State Capitol.

10th Michigan Infantry Flag Adoption

On August 19, 2021, The State of Michigan/Save the Flags honored Fellowship Lodge #236 Free and Accepted Masons of Flint and the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation for their adoption of a flag of the 10th Michigan Volunteer Infantry. The ceremony was held in the rotunda of the Michigan State Capitol.

6th Michigan Cavalry Flag Adoption

On June 14, 2023, The State of Michigan/Save the Flags honored Fellowship Lodge #236 Free and Accepted Masons of Flint for their adoption of a flag of the 6th Michigan Volunteer Cavalry. The ceremony was held in front of the Michigan State Capitol.

We would like to thank all of our donors who have graciously supported Save the Flag. These individuals and groups make it possible to care for Michigan’s Battle Flag collection. Since the beginning of Save the Flags, their donations have allowed us to move the flags to a proper storage location, sent numerous flags out for professional conservation, trained staff to conduct in-house conservation, and allowed us to purchase materials to conduct the conservation in the Capitol’s new conservation laboratory. Without your generous contributions, this would not be possible.
