Description:
This 48-star wool national flag has embroidered stars arranged in six rows of eight. A gold-colored fringe is attached to the top, bottom, and fly edge. The hoist end was fashioned into a sleeve for attachment to the staff.
The staff, which measures 88.5” by 1.25”, is topped by a spade-shaped finial. A rounded cap is attached to the bottom of the staff.
The flag has a 120” red, white, and blue twisted cord with two red, white, and blue tassels measuring 2” in diameter.

SC-171-90: Silk regimental ▪ Dimensions: 56” x 69” ▪ Fringe
Description:
This regimental flag is made of a red piece of silk embroidered with the coat of arms of the United States. Below the coat of arms is a castle and below that is a ribbon bearing the regimental designation. It reads “TWENTYSIXTH U.S. ENGINEERS”. There are faded diagonal bands from the upper hoist end to the bottom edge where the flag was exposed to the light as it was displayed in cases in the Capitol. A white fringe is attached to the top, bottom, and fly edge of the flag. The hoist end was fashioned into a sleeve for attachment to the staff.
The staff, which measures 88.5” by 1.25”, is topped by a spade-shaped finial. A rounded cap is attached to the bottom of the staff. Three metal rings listing battle honors are attached to the staff. They read “ST. MIHIEL Sept. 12-16 1918” “MEUSE-ARGONNE Sept. 26-Nov 11 1918” “TOUL SECTOR FRANCE 26 Sept.-11 Nov. 1918”.
The flag has a 114” red, and white twisted cord with two red and white tassels measuring 2.5” in diameter.

Description:
This 48-star silk national flag has embroidered stars arranged in six rows of eight. There are faded diagonal bands from the upper hoist end where the flag was exposed to the light as it was displayed in cases in the Capitol. There are small, faded bands in the canton from the upper hoist edge where the flag was exposed to light in the Capitol cases. A gold-colored fringe is attached to the top, bottom, and fly edge. The hoist end was fashioned into a sleeve for attachment to the staff.

The flag has a 109” red, white, and blue twisted cord with two red, white, and blue tassels measuring 1.25” in diameter.
