Gettysburg National Military Park

On Sunday, July 7th, 2024 Save The Flags Director and Curator Matt VanAcker was invited to present at the Gettysburg National Military Park, hosted by the Gettysburg Foundation as a part of their 161st battle anniversary events. The Sacred Trust talks are delivered on or near the anniversary of the battle by historians and authors from across the nation. The title of Director Van Acker’s presentation was “O the Dreadful Fields of Battle Over Which It Has Waved”, which focused on the Michigan regiments and flags that saw action at Gettysburg July 1-July 3, 1863.
