Stones River National Battlefield

Save The Flags film crew were at a Western Theatre battlefield on December 14th, 2024 at Stones River National Battlefield in Tennessee.

From December 31, 1862 to January 2, 1863, Union and Confederate armies battled in one of the bloodiest engagements of the Civil War. Over 24,000 Americans were killed, wounded, captured or missing in action at places that would be known thereafter as The Slaughter Pen and Hell’s Half Acre. Michigan units engaged were: The First Michigan Engineers and Mechanics, The First Michigan Light Artillery Regiment (Batteries A and D) the 11th, 13th, 14th and 21st Michigan Infantry Regiments and the 4th Michigan Cavalry Regiment.

Save The Flags would like to thank our “color bearer” Mr. Mathew Gaussman for driving down from Michigan for the filming and also our thanks again to Mr. Bill Brennan for the use of his 13th Michigan Infantry replica battle flag.
