Michigan Army National Guard

On July 17, 2024, Save the Flags had the honor of addressing the Quarterly Commanders meeting of the Michigan Army National Guard at their Lansing Headquarters. Many of the current Michigan Army National Guard units have their origins in Michigan regiments that saw service in the Civil War-- they are descendants of those units.  A good example is the 126th, which traces its lineage to a pre-Civil War Grand Rapids militia company.

Save the Flags would like to thank Brigadier General Rivandra Wagh, Assistant Adjutant General Michigan Army National Guard, and Command Historian Adam Betz for the invitation to address the commanders and for their great support of our project. Thanks also to MSG Helen Miller for the photographs below.
