Description:

This swallow-tail flag is made of two pieces of red wool sewn together.  Appliqued on the flag are crossed cannons in the center with “119” above and “F” below. There is a lot of loss along the fly edge.  The bottom tail is missing entirely.  The hoist edge was fashioned into a sleeve through which a leather strap was threaded.  The strap was then tacked to the staff of the flag.

The staff, which measures 88.5” by 1.25”, is topped by a spade-shaped finial.  A rounded cap is attached to the bottom of the staff.
