Description:

This swallow-tail flag is made of two pieces of red wool sewn together.  Appliqued on the flag are crossed cannons in the center with “119” above and “D” below. There is some staining on the cannon applique.  The hoist edge was fashioned into a sleeve through which a leather strap was threaded.  The strap was then tacked to the staff of the flag.

The staff, which measures 93” by 1.25”, is topped missing a finial, but has a flange where a finial would have attached.  A rounded cap is attached to the bottom of the staff.
