Veteran’s Day at Elmwood Cemetery
Save the Flags was honored to attend a very solemn Veteran’s Day ceremony at Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit on November 11th, 2024. The ceremony marked the 40th year Detroiters and Michiganders have gathered at Elmwood on Veterans’ Day, making this ceremony one of the longest running Michigan Veteran’s Day events. The ceremony paid special tribute to Civil War veterans and veterans of color, including the First Michigan Colored Infantry/102 U.S.C.T. and the First Nations veterans buried at Elmwood.
